Kill Me Again by Rachel Abbott
Kill Me Again: When your life is a lie, who can you trust?
When Maggie Taylor accepts a new job in Manchester, she is sure it is the right move for her family. The children have settled well although her husband, Duncan, doesn’t appear to be so convinced.
But nothing prepares her for the shock of coming home from work one night to find that Duncan has disappeared, leaving their young children alone. His phone is dead, and she has no idea where he has gone, or why. And then she discovers she’s not the only one looking for him.
When a woman who looks just like Maggie is brutally murdered and DCI Tom Douglas is brought in to investigate, Maggie realises how little she knows about Duncan’s past. Is he the man she loves? Who is he running from?
She doesn’t have long to decide whether to trust him or betray him. Because one thing has been made clear to Maggie – another woman will die soon, and it might be her.
Review By Robin Lee TOP 500 REVIEWER
This novel – Kill Me Again is one non-stop thrilling ride that I couldn’t put down……It is suspenseful, mysterious, and completely tense throughout the entire story making you actually out of breath……..It is an elaborate plot with many twists and turns…..Two stories that flow easily into one…Separate narration of the past so you don’t get lost……Great in-depth characterization of all the players involved that you feel their terror, pain and desperation………..With an unbelievable ending that left me shocked and absolutely speechless…..Then just when you think it is finally over….”Bam” you get hit between the eyes…..
Maggie Taylor comes home one day to find her husband, Duncan gone…….Duncan, received a text message that his son, Josh saw, said “I am sorry”, and disappeared……Maggie is now on a quest by herself to track down this mysterious, man she loves…….But, she is not going to like the real man that she has discovered now…….Someone with such a dark, hidden past and evil deeds that she is caught between loving the man she used to know or turning in the, “One Of Three” he is now…….
In the mean time, Detective Tom Douglas and Becky Robinson are investigating women who are being murdered now with the same MO, to women from 12 years ago…..They all bear the markings of three cuts…..Plus, looking for Tom’s girlfriend, Leo who suddenly went missing……There is a definite serial killer on the loose…….But are they copy cats or more than one…….The FBI Profiler says it all links to “The Power Of Three”……..This is one devious game they are playing for fun of it…….Will both Detectives be able to stop him in time and what does ” Invictus” mean…..
Excellent, psychological, serial, killer thriller…..
